Western Australia a global leader in air systems

Western Australia has emerged as a global leader in the development of air systems and Orbital UAV is part of that growing ecosystem.

The latest edition of Australian Air Power Today features a number of interesting articles on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including commentary on WA’s current opportunity within defence and the role Orbital UAV is playing.

According to the article, “UAVs and related technologies, systems integration and a rapid, solutions-focussed culture – honed in remote and challenging environments – can be readily adapted and applied in defence.”

You can read the full article on pg39 of the 2021 Summer edition.

The issue also features a great article on the Royal Australian Navy’s SEA 129 Phase 5 project. The project has set out to address the nation’s maritime Unmanned Aircraft System requirement and is currently being contested by Insitu Pacific, Textron Systems Australia, Northrop Grumman, BAE and Raytheon Australia.
