The backbone of Australia’s industrial base

With a growing global customer base, new engine production lines progressing and Defence funding to support the expansion of our production capability – the next 12 months at Orbital UAV is looking busy!

Our latest Defence Global Competitiveness Grant from the Centre for Defence Industry Capability for new capital equipment will support our progress as we target having five different engine models in production by early FY23.

The Orbital UAV team is incredibly proud to be part of Australia’s growing defence industry and is capturing opportunities to expand our reach and grow our reputation in the UAV sector and beyond.

As Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said when announcing the latest round of grants: “Small businesses that develop some of the most innovative and world-leading defence capabilities are the backbone of Australia’s industrial base. From acquiring new specialist components, to manufacturing engines for unmanned aerial vehicles…these six small businesses are expanding into global markets, generating local jobs and strengthening the sovereign industrial base on which Defence relies.”

Orbital UAV has received ~$195K for the purchase of new equipment that will expand our current production capability as we increase our number of engine production lines in Australia.
