SHADOW MINISTER FOR DEFENCE INDUSTRY VISITS ORBITAL UAV

The Orbital UAV team was delighted to welcome Shadow Minister for Defence Industry Matt Keogh MP to our Balcatta operations. As the Member for Burt, Matt was keen to see first-hand our growing defence industry capability and expanding operations in Western Australia.

Accompanied by CEO Todd Alder, COO Martin Johnston and GM People, Culture & Communication Liezl Ulrich, we had the opportunity to show Matt many of the facility upgrades we have undertaken in recent months as we continue to build our capacity in Balcatta.

With multiple engine development programs progressing as planned, we are currently preparing our Australia operations for the commissioning of additional engine production lines for our growing customer portfolio.

Commenting on Orbital UAV’s global opportunity, Matt said: “Orbital UAV is a fantastic example of how Australian ingenuity can lead the world in defence industry with unique advanced design and manufacturing. We should all be proud of this homegrown world leading local defence industry business.”

Matt’s visit took in our electrical engineering areas and new engine build rooms, where each new engine model that we take into production will have its own distinct manufacturing line.

The Company is expecting to have five different engine models in production in financial year 2023.
